Job Description: Account Managers (AM) manage, and get results with and through others. This role is the link between senior agency management, senior clients and account staff. An AM drives day-to-day client management, team development and maintains high-profile influential relationships. With the “keys to quality in mind” this position ensures client satisfaction, develops strategic plans, may manage fiscal planning, shares business and industry knowledge, and makes sure their clients’ stories are told. The AM manages, motivates and develops their team members.
Job Requirements: Qualifications
Education
• Bachelors degree or above in communications, journalism or related field preferred
Preferred experience
• At least 5 years experience in PR -- in an agency -- providing public relations consulting service to various clients
• Established strong relationships with business, technology trade and consumer media and market analysts, and proactively placed stories
• Minimum of 3 years individual and team management experience, including experience developing a team
• Minimum of 3 years PR management and execution experience, including developing plans, client management, launch strategies, product positioning, pitching stories to the media, negotiation, budget responsibility, media training a client, messaging and creative tactical ideas
• Conducted press meetings and/or led a press tour
• Worked under client and influential deadlines
• Has written and developed press materials
• Pitched new business
• Managed multiple projects/events simultaneously
• Proficiency using computer and general business applications (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel is preferred), and has demonstrated an ability to learn new software applications.
